1. Definition
A vector is a quantity that has both magnitude and direction. It is represented by a directed line segment.
2. Types of Vectors
- Zero Vector: Magnitude is 0; initial and terminal points coincide.
- Unit Vector: Magnitude is 1 unit. Notation: รข = a / |a|.
- Co-initial Vectors: Vectors having the same initial point.
- Collinear Vectors: Vectors parallel to the same line.
3. Addition of Vectors
- Triangle Law: If two sides of a triangle represent vectors, the third side represents their sum.
- Parallelogram Law: Describes addition if vectors start from the same point.
